9 Marie Curie Actions (1) Marie Curie Networks  Host-driven action (at least 3 institutions must (should) apply and form a network); single research organisations may be made eligible.  Structured curricula and training opportunities for Ph.D. students (early- stage researchers)  Allowances for ‘early-stage’ researchers; ‘Chair’ positions; Contribution to training and networking costs; Short training events open to researchers from outside the network  Open to researchers from Third Countries (30% ceiling eliminated)  International collaborations with EU Member States or Third Countries possible

10 Marie Curie Actions (2) European Career Development Fellowships  Target group: researchers at the post-doctorate level with at least 4 years of research experience (experienced researchers)  No fixed age limits, no restrictions on research topic  Eligible: citizens of EU Member States and Associated Countries other than that of host organisation where research will be carried out  Duration: 12 – 24 months  Proposal submitted by individual in conjunction with host organisation  Classic mode (2-stage proposal submitted to the Commission)

11 Marie Curie Actions (2) European Career Integration Grants  Eligible if researcher had at least 18 month training in FP7, FP6 or similar trainings activities.  For 2-3 years, flat rate for salaries of other stuff, travel costs, consumables, patent costs (2) Co-financing of regional/national/international programmes  Selection of ‘co-funded’ programmes through open calls with excellence-based evaluation criteria (no nationality quota)  Selected programmes operated in full autonomy by co-funding body  Community funding proportional to global programme budget and number of fellows selected complying with the trans-nationality criteria

12 Marie Curie Actions (3)Industry-Academia Pathways/Partnerships  Host-driven action (institutions must apply)  Continuation of Transfer of Knowledge action in FP6  Objectives:  Production of new knowledge and knowledge transfer between research institutions and industry (incl. SMEs)  Intersectoral exchange of personnel to encourage better mutual understanding of different work cultures  Transnational mobility required: recruitment or secondment of external personnel (experienced researchers) from other Member States or Associated Countries  Funding : Networking, workshops/conferences; Salary costs of seconded researchers/recruited experienced researchers  Special measure: specific equipment costs for SMEs  Conferences and workshops  Duration: 3 – 4 years

13 Marie Curie Actions (4) International dimension  Continuation of actions in FP6 for experienced researcher  Outgoing International Fellowships (OIF)(3 years max, mandatory reasearch programme, reintegration phase)  Incoming International Fellowships (IIF) (researchers from third countries, 1 or 2 years contract.)  International Reintegration Grants (IRG)(eligible researchers were 3 years out, lump sum for host organisation)  Reinforce „revolving door“ principle (make Europe attractive for researchers from Third Countries, encourage European researchers to return to Europe after a stay in a Third Country)
