Medical Hardship Waiver Criteria Student-athlete does not compete at all during a given season due to injury, illness, or eligibility, or Student-athlete competes before suffering season-ending injury: – Prior to completion of the first half of the season and – For team sports: Prior to participation in more than 30% of scheduled in-season contests; or – For individual sports: Prior to participation in more than 30% of the maximum permissible dates of competition plus one date for a conference championship. 5 th Year Waiver Criteria Preserved year of eligibility, and Academic need to return as an undergraduate for a 5 th year – Academic advisor will certify that: The student appropriately considered academic and career goals when choosing this enrollment pattern, The decision was in the student’s interest regardless of athletics participation, and The decision was made by the student, without pressure to do so from a coach or other athletics department staff member.
