Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes, oh my!
Learning outcomes Participants will align an existing goal, objective, or outcome with their desired cognitive level. Participants will write a new goal and objective or outcome at a specific cognitive. Participants will evaluate existing goals, objectives, or outcomes in order to identify candidates for revision.

Goals – Objectives - Outcomes
Goals are statements about general purposes of education that are broad and long-range Objectives are brief, clear statements that describes the desired learning outcomes of instruction Outcomes are statements that describe significant and essential learning that learners have achieved.

Types of Learning Objectives
Cognitive – “What do you want your students to know?” Affective – “What do you want your students to think or care about?” Behavioral– “What do you want your students to be able to do?”.

Writing Learning Objectives/Outcomes Pick a level, type, and taxonomy
Select an action word that identifies the performance to be demonstrated Determine a statement that reflects what learning will be demonstrated Include criteria for acceptable performance
