17 W ARM U P New Page Title: 8/19 Journal Write silently for the full time. Prompt: I like ads that are whimsical, like fantasy, or funny. I strongly dislike ads that show violence or sexual appeal. Think of advertisements that you like to look at or watch, ones that catch your attention. What is it about them that interests or intrigues you? What attracts you? What do you most dislike, and why?

18 W ARM U P New Page Title: 8/20 Journal Write silently for the full time. Prompt: Over the summer, I had to argue with my husband about what time of day to fly from California. I appealed to his emotions when I told him how awful we’d feel if we left in the middle of the night. I also used my authority as his wife and my daughter’s mom to encourage him to respect my ideas. Write about a time you had to argue for something, and how you used emotions, logic, and/or authority.
