Integrated Math 3 Unit 1 Modeling Problem Situations
2
1-1 Algorithms Objective: Students will be able to analyze and write Algorithms for both real-world and mathematical situations.
7
Sample 2 (pg 5) Use two different algorithms to solve the inequality -3x + 9 < 4 Compare the two algorithms you used.
8
Write an Algorithm Graph y=2x-4 Think of how you created the graph. Write an Algorithm to graph an equation of a line in slope- intercept form.
9
Write an Algorithm Graph 3x+2y=12 Think of how you created the graph. Write an Algorithm to graph an equation of a line in standard form.
10
Look Back (pg 6) What are some things to keep in mind when you write a set of directions to solve a problem?
11
1-2 Systematic Lists Objective: To use organized or systematic lists to solve problems.
14
Systematic Lists When there are many possibilities to explore, such as in the exploration, you can use a systematic or organized, list to make sure that you do not leave out or repeat any combinations.
15
Sample 1 (pg 10) Find all the different triangles that have sides with whole-number lengths and perimeter of 12.
16
Sample 2 (page 11) Paula Hernandez is the manager of an automobile repair service. She lists the number of hours needed to complete the repair work on the cars waiting for service. See Page 11
18
1-3 Using Statistics Objective: Use statistics and data displays; line graphs, box and whisker plots and scatter plots, to draw conclusions
36
1-5 Using Systems of Equations Objective: Using Systems of Equations to Model situations Solving Systems of Equations Using Matrices to Solve Systems of Equations 3x3 Systems of Equations
38
1-6 Using Diagrams Objective: Use Diagrams to solve problems
