Scheduling Timeline  Friday, January 27 th : Course sign-up forms due (electronic & paper, with all signatures)  Mid-August: Schedules mailed home to students; open course change period begins  First day of school: Schedules handed out during Advisory period first thing in the morning  Two weeks into school: Course change period ends for first semester

14. Summer School Information  Upper School course offerings are on the handout you received tonight.  Financial Aid available.  Course registration will begin for Lakeside students on February 6 th. Open registration begins on February 27 th.  Some courses may not run due to low enrollment. Regular updates available through June 1.  All registration materials will be available online in February.  An informational e-mail from Chris Hartley will be sent at the end of this month.

15. Summer School: Things to consider  Courses that earn Lakeside credit will become part of the student’s transcript.  Strict attendance policy.  Students should sign up for courses as if there were no summer school. Schedules can be adjusted.

16. LAKESIDE ACADEMIC BRIDGES A specialized two week Middle to Upper School transition program** covering: “Writing Across the Curriculum” and “Algebraic Thinking”  Open to incoming 9 th grade Lakeside students only.  Get to know some of your peers, teachers, and how to access some of the Upper School educational resources even before the school year begins!  Review math and firm up writing skills according to Lakeside expectations in English, History and Science.  Program Dates: Mid August**  Days: Monday - Friday (5 days per week)  Times: 9 a.m. – 12:40 a.m.  Cost = Free!!! Snacks will be provided. FLYER AND APPLICATION COMING SOON TO A MAILBOX NEAR YOU… **Note: It differs from our regular summer school program and doesn’t interfere with fall athletics.

17. Testing and College  Don’t worry about it!!!!  PSATs, SAT Subject Tests (SAT IIs) start sophomore year  Testing at this age has little (if any) ultimate relevance in the college process
