To highlight the purpose of IMPACT Day. To present the theme of IMPACT Day 2011. To provide a program overview for IMPACT Day 2011. To identify implementation options for IMPACT Day. To address questions and concerns for program implementation.

Promotes and provides opportunities to improve the quality of life for black males. Outlines a comprehensive approach for developing potential in young black males. Focuses program implementation on education, culture, mentorship, preventive health care, financial planning, scholarship, and community service.

Scientific Research Points to the following areas of concern for the Black Male. Education (The Achievement Gap) Access to Digital Learning Justice System Violence Healthy Lifestyles Career Development Job Opportunities Parental Support and Mentoring

Community Engagement to Address Issues Affecting the Development of Black Males Partnerships with Churches and Community Groups Development (or Extension) of EMBODI Programs

Review research related to community need and resources. Identify goals and priorities. Explore collaborative action and partnerships. Develop a plan of action. Implement. Monitor. Evaluate.

Town Hall Meeting Teen Forum Partnering with Boys and Girls Clubs Planting Ceremony Organize a visit to a senior citizens home and have young men read (stories or newspaper articles to residents). “Real Men Read”

Collaborate with your city’s Beautification Committee to organize a neighborhood clean-up with young males and mentors. Collaborate with fraternities for a Young Black Male Empowerment Conference. (Suggested Topics: Career Development and Young Black Male Issues) Collaborate with local media to initiate a radio talk show addressing young male issues.

EMBODI Conference Play Highlighting The Black Male Preparation of CD’s with “power” songs about Black Males Dress for Success Presentation Partnerships with 100 Black Men (Eagle Academy)

Can our chapter schedule IMPACT Day on March 19, 2011? Answer: IMPACT Day activities should be completed no later than March 31, 2011.

Can our chapter use a scheduled EMBODI teen forum as our IMPACT Day activity? Answer: Yes.

Is the scheduling of IMPACT Day required of our chapter? Answer: IMPACT Day is not required. As a sisterhood called to serve, chapters are encouraged to participate in IMPACT Day.
