Time Rate; paid according to hours worked. Performance related pay (PRP): pay here is related to performance, e.g. bonus, and commission. Appraisal is the main tool to implement Performance Related Pay. Profit sharing: this is a different approach to financial incentive; it aims to provide staff with a share of the firm’s annual profit. However, Herzberg warned that financial incentives distort behaviour. Share ownership: Similar to above; It makes workers, managers, directors and shareholders think as one. Fringe benefits (perks): examples of perks are company cars, mobile phones, membership of clubs, lower mortgage rates etc.

It could also give them a range of responsibilities and activities, which should motivate them. job enlargement: it means adding extra responsibility and workload to the job without sense of creativity to inspire workforce. Job empowerment it means giving employees more power in the work place. In modern terms empowerment is called delegation. Others include; more teamwork and Promoting staff (internal recruitment)
