Georgia O’Keeffe Her full name is: Georgia Totto O’Keeffe
Born on November 15th, 1887 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Her parents were dairy farmers. She was the first girl and the second of seven children. Her parents were Hungarian immigrants. NM History Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O’Keeffe She attended the art institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York City. A major figure in American art since the 1920s. Married the famous American photographer Alfred Stieglitz who owned the gallery where her art would first be shown. Some believe that it was thanks to him that she received as much attention as she did at a time when most women artists were not receiving much publicity or attention. NM History Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O’Keeffe She moved to New Mexico permanently in 1949—3 years after the death of her husband. In 1984, she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. She died at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 1986 at the age of 98. NM History Georgia O'Keeffe
