ARKANSAS CTE VISION The vision for the Career and Technical Education Division (CTE) of the Arkansas Department of Career Education through 2015 is to modernize college- and career-readiness programs through innovation, collaboration, alignment and accountability to provide students technical skills developments and guidance toward career opportunities.

ACT 743 – Definition of Program of study revision in 2015 legislative session A rigorous career and technical education program of study that links secondary education and postsecondary education and combines academic and technical education in a structured sequence of courses that progresses from broad foundation skills to occupationally special courses. A student may earn Postsecondary credits for career and technical education program of study courses that lead to a postsecondary credential, certificate, or degree may be awarded.

START-UP GRANT TIMELINE Offcycle- - Start date August, 2015 – May 1, 2015 Submit completed start-up grant Program Coordinator will approve/disapprove for August, 2016 start Resubmittal if funding is desired by October 1, 2015 Submit by October 1, 2015 – Start date August, 2016 Reimbursement Deadline December 15 for 14-15 grant awards
