One Fair Two Venues The Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (CEC) even after its expansion in 2009, will not be big enough to accommodate all existing exhibitors in ONE location. A clear product sectorisation between two venues is the ONLY way to make both venues attractive and efficient for buyers to visit the location(s) of their choice. One Fair Two Venues Product sectorisation is applied to ALL exhibitors, not just to a specific country. All existing, long-history exhibitors will have priority in selecting their preferred booth location. Both venues will consequently be EQUALLY SUCCESSFUL for their exhibitors and visitors.

Fair’s expansion to generate more business opportunities The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair 2009 is set to become the biggest ever. The Fair’s AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) venue opens two days before the Fair in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and will occupy eight halls, that is 80% bigger than last year’s. We expect that all available space will be fully booked. Meanwhile, with the completion of the HKCEC’s expansion project, the Fair will finally get full use of the venue and expected to be fully booked by the finished Jewellery exhibitors. The TOTAL exhibition area will be around 100,000 square metres gross, represents an increase of around 20% in size, and almost 3,000 exhibitors from around the world to participate at the Fair, that is about 14% increase compared with 2008 edition. The expansion of the Fair affirms its reputation at the biggest international jewellery fairs worldwide. It also is expected to attract more participants and generate more business opportunities, also given the potential of the Asian jewellery market.

Value-added Services To increase the success rate and the return on investment (ROI) of exhibitors, UBM Asia introduces two new promotion systems, namely the Buyer Invitation Optimiser Service (BIOS) and Info Lead to all its exhibitors. BIOS Programme With the BIOS programme, the exhibitor can get more direct sales leads as a result of a smart and innovative way of inviting their contacts to the exhibition. Under the BIOS programme, the exhibitor will receive a regular bi-weekly report showing who among their target buyers have pre-registered. With this information, they can then proceed to contact the buyers and schedule a meeting with them at the Fair. Info Lead Info Lead is a brand new sales lead tracking and management service. Exhibitors can sort their leads with the qualifiers pre-set in the system or change these qualifiers for their own needs to have specific and relevant categorisations.
