MYSTERY OF GOD I identify situations of wonder and mystery in life. Having considered the belief that these situations are signs of God’s invitation to relationship, I can describe how these affect our awareness of the sacred in our lives. RERC 3-01a In light of Jesus’ example, I have reflected upon some aspects of wonder and mystery in my life and I am developing skills of discernment, learning how to be sensitive to God’s presence in my life and in the world.

I have reflected upon how this has contributed to my becoming the person I am today. RERC 3-02a I have explored the Christian belief that God created human beings male and female in His own image and likeness (Gen. 1: 1 -2: 25).

I have reflected upon how this has contributed to my becoming the person I am today. RERC 3-02a I have identified and explored human characteristics which are ‘God-like’, including these: intelligence, free will, immortal soul, knowing right from wrong, made to be in relationship.

REVEALED TRUTH OF GOD I have examined key events in the New Testament where God is revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I have considered how this affects my understanding of the nature of God. RERC 3-04a Through opportunities for prayer and reflection, with a focus on the Creed, I am developing my relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit and I know that God is revealed, above all, in the person of Jesus.

SON OF GOD I know that Jesus is truly divine and truly human and I can acknowledge Him as our Saviour who brings the New Covenant. RERC 3-05a I have experienced opportunities for prayer and reflection and I am able to express how these can help me to develop a personal relationship with Jesus as God.

WORD OF GOD I can describe what I believe Biblical texts say about the way that God spoke to people in the past and how God speaks to people today. RERC 3-12a Through research, or by learning from appropriate witnesses, I have explored and evaluated how the Saints and holy men and women have ‘heard’ God in the past and do so today.

RERC 3-14a I understand that there are various ways of prayer: vocal prayer, meditation and contemplative prayer.

RERC 3-14a I have developed my understanding of how to pray using the Old and New Testaments and, in doing so, I have become familiar with Lectio Divina.

I have developed an understanding of the Church as a ‘pilgrim people’.

Catholics pray for the intercession of the Saints on their behalf with God Catholics pray, in a particular way, for the Holy Souls during the month of November.
