1. Earth Day April 22, 2015 Bon Secours Charity Health System teaching kids to save the earth. One job at a time.

2. Starting off with a Poem.

3. What can we recycle? Playing a recycle game made learning hands on and fun. Kids were given news paper, soda bottle, milk container, can, mail, card board, glass jar, and asked to go ahead and recycle the items in the correct container.

4. Other ways to save the Earth. These ideas came from the kids. Recycle at home and at school Turn bottles in for money Reuse items. Clean litter from a park Clean litter from a water source Turn off lights Conserve water when brushing teeth and bathing Bike or walk instead of taking car

5. Reusable Water Bottles reduce waste and save money.

6. Cut and Color printed on recycled paper to show them another way to reuse an item

7. Handful of promises to show the Earth we care on recycled paper.

8. The final project. Leaving their mark on the world.

9. THE CHALLENGE Each child was asked to write a letter to the teacher telling them what their promise was on their hand cut out. And then tell them what they did to uphold that promise. This helped inforce the lessons learned and had the entire 2 nd grade class at a local School doing at least one action in doing their part. THE REWARD For those who turned in this letter they received extra credit in class, and a reusable water bottle to continue to help save the earth one step at a time.
