Prompt Your county is trying to find ways to save money. One idea is to start having classes online instead of coming to school. Write a letter to you principal being for or against online schooling.

Paragraph 1 Audience: Principal Topic: Our county is trying to find ways to save money. One option is to start having classes online. Position Statement: I believe we should start having classes online instead of coming to school everyday.

Paragraph 2 Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 are going to look the same, but with different information. Reason 1: We would save on utilities. ◦ Ex 1: The school wouldn’t have to pay for electricity. ◦ Ex 2: We would save on paying for water for the water fountain and bathrooms. ◦ Ex 3: We wouldn’t have to pay for heat or air conditioning to keep the faculty and students comfortable.

Paragraph 3 Reason 2: Save on transportation services. ◦ Ex 1: Would no longer have to pay for bus drivers. ◦ Ex 2: Wouldn’t need to pay for repairs and maintenance on the buses. ◦ Ex 3: Buses take up a lot of gas.

Paragraph 4 Reason 3: Food for the faculty and students. ◦ Ex 1: Wouldn’t have to spend money for 2 meals a day. ◦ Ex 2: No need for lunch workers anymore. ◦ Ex 3: No repairs or replacements for lunchroom equipment like silverware, plates, trays, stove, etc.

Paragraph 5 Re-state topic: Our county is trying to find ways to save money. One option is to have classes online. Re-state position: Due to all the reasons, I believe we should start having classes online instead of coming to school.
