7 Academic Dean’s Office INTENT TO REGISTER and PROGRAM COUNSELLING 1.Look up Intent to Register information and the schedules for ADO/Departmental information sessions on the King’s/ADO website: http://www.kings.uwo.ca/current-students/courses- enrolment/degree-information/intent-to-register/ http://www.kings.uwo.ca/current-students/courses- enrolment/degree-information/intent-to-register/ (The web information will be updated by Feb 9 th ) During Program Counselling

Attend the information sessions: the ADO: general information on how to build your degree and summer school the departments: subject-specific information (how do you know if a subject is for you?) the School of Social Work: (what are the BSW admission requirements?) professional schools (Education, Law, etc.; how should you prepare for future graduate programs?)

DID YOU KNOW that you could get additional information and academic input by meeting your faculty during their posted office hours? Seize the opportunity to meet these invaluable mentors! http://www.kings.uwo.ca/kings/assets/File/currentStu dents/courses_enrollment/Office%20Hours%202014- 2015%20Book%20Type%20.pdf

11 Academic Dean’s Office INTENT TO REGISTER and PROGRAM COUNSELLING What if I miss the ITR deadline (March 31st)? Early submission of your ITR optimizes your course selection. If you are late, you must complete a paper form at the Academic Dean’s Office and your access to the registration system will be delayed.

12 Academic Dean’s Office INTENT TO REGISTER and PROGRAM COUNSELLING  a special student (you already have a degree)  in a Certificate program (without a degree program)  planning to be “undeclared” (i.e., to not be in a module like a Major). This is an option to avoid if possible.  in a concurrent degree program (i.e., in a professional degree and a B.A. undergrad degree at the same time)  a re-registrant (have voluntarily taken the last year/s off)  seeking admission to the Bachelor of Social Work Honors program (see next slide). Are you in one of the above situations? We can answer your questions at the Academic Dean’s Office (DL 104). You can’t submit an ITR online if you are

13 Academic Dean’s Office INTENT TO REGISTER and PROGRAM COUNSELLING Students who are applying for admission to the BSW Honors program cannot indicate "Social Work" as a program choice on their ITR.
