Urban youth : Growth, Opportunity & Migration The youth population in the age- group 15-34 years is expected continue to increase to 464 million in 2021 and finally to decline to 458 million in 2026 showing the youth bulge Youth population (15-32 years) comprises 35 per cent of the urban population Top 10 cities contribute to 80 per cent of growth in India. More than 110 million youth, men and women in equal numbers, in the age group 15-32 migrate from their places of origin for a number of reasons. Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka receive 64 per cent of the intra state migrant workers in the age group 15-32 years. Bihar and Uttar Pradesh account for 59 per cent of migrant workers. The largest proportions of migrants who move in search of work move from agriculture to construction or trade and hotels or other services. Migration for reasons of marriage accounts for over 70 per cent of all internal migration.
