Opportunity to have photographs taken today after the presentation 5£ - same as everywhere else Guaranteed to be accepted by UKBA Old photographs or photographs from home country are NOT acceptable Photographs from photo booth often not acceptable Unacceptable photographs one of main reason for applications being rejected Rejected applications can lead to becoming an overstayer 29/08/2015© The University of Sheffield

7 Money you need to show Majority will have to show £7200 plus outstanding tuition fees Money should be in the account by now Has to be in the account for a minimum of 28 days by the time you submit visa application Majority will have to extend by 4 th October 2013, therefore last date to start having money in the account is 6 th September If you haven’t got the funds already in your account, you must put them in by 6 th September! If you pay tuition fee in full, you only need £7200 (£1600 if your last course was more than 6 months long) Make sure you are familiar with the formal requirements of the bank statements (see information on our website, particularly the presentation) 29/08/2015© The University of Sheffield

9 What to do if you have no address? Part 1 Students who won’t have a permanent address or living with a friend or travelling before and whilst their visa application is with home office must do the following: For visa application: Write a covering letter, explaining the situation, outlining when they left their last accommodation, where they live now (or that they do not live anywhere as travelling) and when they are planning to move to their new address and state the new address if known 29/08/2015© The University of Sheffield

10 What to do if you have no address? Part 2 For Police: If staying with friends then you must go to Snig Hill Police Station to report your temporary accommodation. You must a letter from their friends that you are staying with and explain that you are living with them temporarily at the address written on the letter. Your Police Registration Certificate (PRC) will then be updated with that temporary address. When you move into their permanent accommodation you will again have to report new address to the police. With regard to the students who are travelling, they will still have to provide a temporary address as above (as you must be leaving their belongings somewhere!). 29/08/2015© The University of Sheffield

11 Registration When is Registration? Monday 23 – Friday 27 September (Intro Week) What documents should I bring? - Your passport and visa (or evidence of your visa application if your passport is with the Home Office e.g. a postal receipt) - Your qualification certificates (if Admissions haven’t seen them yet)  All students must attend registration
