3 The Internet is a network of computers spanning the globe. It is also called the World Wide Web.

4 Website is made up of a number of different web pages connected by links. A Webpage is one single page of information in a website.

6 A Web Address is how we find a website or webpage on the internet. Each Web Address is unique. Example: www.comfsm.fm

7 A web address is typically composed of four parts : http://www.comfsm.fm http:// This Web server uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). www This site is on the World Wide Web. comfsm The Web server, host, website. fm This tells us it is a site in the Federated States of Micronesia.

8 Endings of web pages tells us a bit about the page. Some common endings to web addresses are: com (commercial) edu (educational institution) gov (government) biz (business) blog (blog) music (music) church (church) net (network) org (organization) You might also see addresses that add a country code as the last part of the address such as: ca (Canada) uk (United Kingdom) fr (France) us (United States of America) au (Australia) jp (Japan) ph (Philippines) tv (Tuvalu) hk (Hong Kong) eu (European Union)

9 HTML or HyperText Markup Language is the standard markup language used to create Web pages. HTML tells your web browser how to show contents.
