All CMS schools have Parent Assistant available for parent use. Each school has a Parent Assistant contact at the school. Technical assistance at parentassistant@cms.k12.nc.us parentassistant@cms.k12.nc.us The website address is: http://parents.cms.k12.nc.us Parent Assistant

Parents log-on using an assigned user name and password. This is issued by the school upon request.

View current grades in each class. This is cumulative grade - it may change as CMS grades are by defined by quarters; not a cumulative method.

Menus at top of PAM Each dropdown will take the user to a different set of data.

Users May: Change the password from menu item: change password. Request change of emergency contact information from the emergency contact dropdown. See other demographic information from the demographic dropdown. View a variety of information from the Academic Progress menu.

For example, dropdown to attendance, and view daily attendance by class, categorized as authorized, excused, unexcused and late.

Non-school days—Displays days when school is closed for students such as teacher workdays and holidays.

Displays course grades by grading period. Includes the reporting period, teacher’s name, absences and tardy reports.

Shows current transcript: credits earned to date, credits needed for graduation.

To Access Grades and Assignments From the current screen, click on the details button of a class. From Reporting Terms, select the desired reporting term and click the Select button on right.

Viewing Assignments and Quarter grade Quarter grade to date shows at bottom of the screen Assignment grades show in the middle

Viewing Assignment Details Clicking on the details button to the right of the individual will take the user to the details of the given assignment, including weighting.

CMS Parent Assistant Standards Attendance information will be posted daily by the school but is a day late when viewed in PAM Assignments will be posted weekly by teachers. Grades will be posted within 10 days from the date of test or assignment Adherence to these standards is at the discretion of the principal.
