3. 10 years from now…. Picture your child 10 years from now. What successes will he/she have? What can help your child get there?

4. Partnership from Home Have your child get a full night’s sleep (recommended 8-10 hours each night). Have your child eat breakfast each morning. Arrive to school before 7:25 so your child can have morning routines completed when class begins.

5. Partnership from Home Read with your child daily. These minutes add up. Check your child’s agenda and initial it nightly. Communicate with your child’s teacher regularly. Attend parent/teacher conferences and be involved at Gilbert Primary School. (continued)

6. Purpose The purpose of Title 1 is to give every child the opportunity to obtain a high quality education and meet state and district standards. Title 1 schools have the resources that other schools have in addition to Title 1 funds to support student achievement.

7. Instruction Title 1 ensures that students are taught using scientifically based instructional strategies. Curriculum and instruction are developed to raise the achievement of all students. All staff members are highly qualified in a Title 1 School.

8. Funds Title 1 funds are used to supplement educational opportunities and provide educational activities such as: First In Math Early Learning Center and its resources Instructional resources for our teachers and students Additional staffing to include: STEM lab assistant, additional interventionists, literacy coach Professional development to our staff on such topics as: Best practices for instruction Leader in Me Data Days

9. Development Each year a new Title 1 plan is developed with the involvement of school administration, teachers, parents, and community members. Title 1 Planning Team meets monthly. You, as parents, have the right to be involved in the development of the Title 1 Plan.

10. Parent Involvement A major component is parental involvement through: – Parent/teacher/ student compact – Parental involvement policy – Surveys – Early Learning Center (3 year old program) – Parent input into how funds are spent – Planning team meeting involving parents – Parent /Teacher conferences – RTI and IEP meetings
