A double-decker bus A double-decker bus position A bus with two passenger decks. Double-deckers are common sight in Britain. London has more than 3, 000 double-deckers. In their original form they were «hop on, hop off» buses. That is, there were on doors. There was a conductor who collected fares. Most double-deckers these days have doors and conductor. Fares are paid to the driver. At many seaside resorts, double- deckers with an open top deck are used in the summer season for tourists who are sightseeing.
