6. Rule 6 Use a comma to mark interruptions in a sentence.
Words or phrases that are not necessary.
Example:
1. Kevin was, of course, surprised by the party.

If you use a name in direct address (talking directly to that person), use commas to set the name off from the rest of the sentence.
Example:
