The History Galileo Galilei discovered Jupiter in Italy in 1610 and it was found looking through a telescope. Its name means mythology Zeus. This is Jupiter’s symbol.

SOLAR SYSTEM o Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun. o It is 484 million miles from the sun. o It takes 433,259 days to orbit around the sun. o It takes 9 hours and 55 minutes to rotate around the solar system.

Planet appearance Jupiter looks like a red, orange, yellow, and brown planet. It also has tan stripes, one black spot and a red spot that was there for 300 years. It looks like a huge basket ball. The red spot is bigger than Earth.

Jupiter has one ring that is impossible to see from Earth. We could only see the ring by sending a robot to Jupiter. Rings

Exploration No one ever has been on Jupiter before. But we sent a robot to Jupiter to take a picture and was sent on September 1, 1979 it returned November 13, 1980. People can’t go on Jupiter because Jupiter is a gassy planet, and people call it the Gas Giant. There is no solution.

Jupiter spins fast for a little bit and than very slow. It has 64 moons and Jupiter has more gravity than Earth. Jupiter is the fourth biggest thing in the sky. It has a rocky core inside of it. The weather on Jupiter has a lot of dust storms because there is a red and black spot that makes the dust storms over 300 years. If I am 60 pounds on Earth, than I weigh 141.8 pounds on Jupiter.
