4 February 2005 UNCLASSIFIED IA Participation in NORAD-USNORTHCOM Joint Training Events J7 plans and executes two major annual exercises each year: Ardent Sentry Vigilant Shield And one additional major biennial exercise every year: Northern Edge (odd years) Amalgam Warrior (even years) Additionally, J7 supports a variety of other exercises focused on the NORAD Regions, other COCOMs, Federal Agencies, and the Joint Staff Plan/execute/participate in 20 – 24 total exercises per year Most exercises involve the IA community Three examples representing this year’s exercises:

4 February 2005 UNCLASSIFIED IA Participation in NORAD-USNORTHCOM Joint Training Events ARDENT SENTRY AS-05 is the first exercise resulting from integration of the NORAD-USNORTHCOM Exercise Program with the DHS National Homeland Security Exercise Program Odd years: -DHS “TOP OFFICIALS” Exercise lead - - supported by NORAD-USNORTHCOM and “ARDENT SENTRY” Even years: N-N leads with “ARDENT SENTRY”- - supported by DHS
