InFocus Services Information for Off-Campus Students - from the Library Enquiry Service – This tutorial has an audio voice over. Please make sure your speakers or headphones are switched on. Who are we? I'm Carolyn Barton and together with my team we provide information and library support for off-campus students.

What do we do? Audio track: InFocus is our brand name, which stands for "Information for off campus students". InFocus – Information for Off-Campus Students

Specifically… Enquiry service –All enquiries welcome –Complex enquiries forwarded to the appropriate member of staff Access to UDo –Password problems –Problems with navigation Audio track: What do we do? Well...we act as an enquiry service and focal point, so if you have a question please contact us. We liaise closely with other departments and will take your query to the most appropriate member of staff. We will then get back to you so that you are not passed around. We can help with access to UDo and will reset passwords. If you have a problem navigating UDo please phone, fax or email the Unit and we will help.

What do we do? Access to electronic resources –Help with navigation –Help with off-campus access Study skills information –Leaflets provided via the post –Links on website to other providers in University Audio track: If you have a problem navigating the electronic library please contact the Unit. If you are having a problem accessing a specific journal article we can give you instructions on how to access it, either by telephone or email. You may be returning to study and need help with study skills. We can supply you with study skill packs or direct you to various online resources.

What do we do? Access to library materials – registration required –Postal book loans (UK and Rep of Ireland only) –Document delivery service Photocopies of journal articles and book chapters supplied from library stock Photocopies of journal articles and book chapters supplied by British Library Audio track: We can post books to you from the University of Derby stock. This service is available to students in the UK and Republic of Ireland. You are allowed to borrow up to 12 books at any one time. We send them in a padded bag by first class recorded delivery and we ask you to return them using the padded bag and recorded delivery so that the books can be traced. We also provide a document delivery service where we can post photocopies of journal articles and book chapters to you. This we can do worldwide but must abide by UK Copyright Law. If we do not hold the item, we will request it from the British Library and send it to you.

What do we do? Access to other libraries –SCONUL Access scheme website www.access.sconul.ac.uk Audio track: As a distance learner you are eligible to apply for SCONUL Access. This is a reciprocal borrowing scheme between approximately 170 universities in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. To apply please download the application form from the website at www.access.sconul.ac.uk. Send your completed form to the Library Enquiry Service. You must have a valid University of Derby student ID card.
