What is expected of you Ensure your society is doing what it says it will – Kickass Guarantee Be the point of contact for your societies – Check your emails! Attend GM’s Talk to us! Submit paperwork on time Hold online elections during the societies election period

What do you need to do over Summer Check your emails!! Submit your code of conduct, constitution and any other relevant forms Plan your Welcome Week – Socials, meet and greets, publicity Think about ordering clothing for exec over Summer so you look professional Welcome Week Plan first meeting

Fresher’s Fair Stand out! Have a leaflet to give them – Who you are – What you do – Who to contact & email – Social media – Date, time and meeting place of first meeting What are your highlights of the year? Photo board to show them what you do? Electricity is sparse – plan around that you won’t get any Create a banner Exec’s in branded t-shirts – logos, name & position

Preparations for next year Facebook/societiesguild Share your society’s events on our facebook page from your society’s facebook page and we will share it for you Twitter@SocGuild Tweet us and we will retweet!!

Clothing Societies Guild Logo on left breast (light or dark shield) Red Oak Roller or Everything Essex Ask for a quote from both! If you won an award last year put it on your hoodies with 2014/15 on it

Admin Rights You officially become exec on the 1 st July We will email over the summer with deadlines for giving you your admin rights Your admin rights allow you to – Edit your website (update new exec details asap!) – Email your members – See who is a member You will need to buy your membership again for the Societies Guild and your society to get admin rights – expire 2016 All must have signed up before Welcome Week

Room Bookings Will be available from Welcome Week Don’t let this stop you from planning events though! Link on help section on website Only exec members can book MUST declare external speakers MUST declare if have entertainment We will not approve booking unless you’ve bought your membership

Lockers Will be allocated based upon Inventories Inventories are due 29.06.15 – We’ll email these out to presidents next week Please complete them fully Keys will be given to Presidents The Societies Team will also have a copy Lockers are in a room that you will have to sign a key out for to get access

New Standards Standards are changing this year You no longer apply for them but keep an online webpage up to date for your members – we will review this Please check new criteria Standards workshop at 4pm in LTB1

Small Informal Groups Alternative to societies No charge to join Less perks – no winter fayre, no fresher’s No exec – just a contact List on the website with a contact Don’t have to attend GM’s etc Little paperwork Small cash injection if needed Inventory
