20 First of all, the “honeymoon”stage

21 Everything seems new, quaint and novel.

22 The food, the surroundings, the buildings.

23 And it produces feeling of euphoria, a desire to look around, to experiment, to explore.

24 The next stage is the “horror” stage.

25 Real life Where the newness wears off and you see the country in a different light and often begin to criticize the country, the life and the values of the people.

26 The weather

27 The rhythm of the life

28 The holidays

29 Family & friends

30 It didn't go as I expected in the U.S. and then I just felt lonesome and impatient.

31 Especially it was dark with rain every day, so America was cool to me.

32 The laws and idiom

33 I feel like a prisoner

34 Nostalgic, tired, confused.

35 The next stage, is the “humor” stage.

36 Where the people begin to reflect back and laugh at their mistakes in the earlier stages.

37 When I came to the railroad crossing, I thought that I had to stop every time. When I did, the driver behind me beeped the horn. I was so ashamed because nobody stops before crossing the railroad crossing.

38 And the final stage.

39  Is “Home” stage where people begin to feel at home, enjoy living in that foreign country.  We don’t have a picture for this because everybody here can show this.

40  This kind of feeling is not only for the immigrants, it’s for all the people who need to change their habits, customs, school, city, house, etc…
