1 “WORD” to the ART… You make the art, but can you “TALK” the art? *Answer the quiz questions, then choose an art activity to do in class.

2 Art Activities To Do: 1.Create a picture of an area in the room. Whatever you draw must be broken up into pieces and colored.. 2. Create a painting using only warm colors. Take a picture upload it into the computer and change it using only the cool colors on the program. 3. Create a drawing that is a image with lots of details. Then redo it in oil pastels.

3 Art Activities To Do: 1.Create a 3D version of your house out of toothpicks… 2.Create a tribal hut using only natural materials you bring in. 3.Create a skyline of our city to educate the public we have one! 4.Create sketches of the unique architectural details found on our downtown buildings.

4 Art Activities To Do: 1.Find at least five names of printmakers that sell their prints in Iowa. 2.What is the importance of an “edition” numbering on a print? 3.Name at least two artists who are famous for their print images in the U.S., Midwest Fort Dodge area?

5 Art Activities To Do: 1.What products do you have at your home that have a lot of “embellishment” on them? 2. What events or times in our calendar year do we like to “embellish” things around us? 3. You’ve been asked to design a new image for a wrapping paper company, what will you make that hasn’t been used before?

6 Art Activities To Do: 1.Write down all the geometric shapes you find in the room. 2.Make a worksheet for your sibling to learn about the types of geometric shapes that are in your home. 3.Create a drawing that uses only geometric shapes in it.

7 Art Activities To Do: 1.Look around you to see how many things “radiate” from another locations. 2.Where does the word “radial” originate from? 3.Create a detailed image that uses the concept of radial. 4.What are common images that students like you create that use the “radial” idea? Think….

8 Art Activities To Do: 1.Create a collage using scissors much like the artist, Matisse did for his famous artwork. 2.Does it matter what type of scissors you use for your work or not? (Opinion, no right or wrong answer on this one!) 3. Trace the shape of the scissors carefully; create an abstract image of those images and color them creatively.

9 Art Activities To Do: 1.Look around the room and list all the things you see that have some shading visible to your eye. 2.What are different ways to show shading on an object; show example of this on your paper. 3.What artist is “known” for using lines to create a sense of shadow in his artwork?

10 Art Activities To Do: 1.Name the objects around you that look stable; do they have to be alive or not? 2.Think of the most “stable” building downtown that you can think of. What gives the appearance that it is to you? 3.Pretend you are a designer; you must design a new type of school desk that is “stabile”. How will it look to give it that effect?

11 Art Activities To Do: 1.Make a small sketchbook and create at least 10 thumbnail sketches of objects in the room. 2.Choose one of the sketches you did, copy it 5 times and color one of them any way you choose. 3.Take the other copies and color them differently from the first one you colored.

25 1.Take at least three of your favorite projects and scan them on the computer. Save the file. Go on to www.artsonia.com and upload your project into your gallery or folder. Make sure you use your code given to you earlier to do this part of the project. www.artsonia.com 2. Take your favorite image and email it to your classroom teacher. Next arrange a time to “show” him/her how to put it on the computer for a screen saver image to enjoy. Congratulations!
