10 Illinois State Requirements All parents must fill out a Home Language Survey. Students whose parents indicate another language must be screened. When 20 or more students who speak the same language qualify at an attendance center, a Bilingual Teacher who speaks that language must be hired. Students who do not speak the high incidence language must be served through an ESL teacher.

11 Student Identification Teachers administer the WIDA Assessment for any student whose parents indicated a language other than English is spoken in the home  Minimum passing score requirements:  4.8 Composite AND  4.2 Literacy  Students who do not reach these scores are considered Limited English Proficient (LEP)

12 Annual Language Assessment for AMAO Accountability Annual ACCESS language assessment in January/February for ALL ELL students identified as LEP To exit the program, students must score a minimum:  4.8 Composite AND  4.2 Literacy

13 ACCESS Testing Completed in January-February Assesses student achievement in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing Scores are used to exit students from the program Parents receive notification on whether or not their child will exit before the end of the school year Score reports are sent home in the Fall
