2 NEW PROGRAMS FUNDED BY THE LHIN ▪ Community Withdrawal Management Program and Day Program (2014-15) ▪ Ottawa Addictions Access and Referral Services (2014-15) ▪ Hoarding Pilot Project in Mental Health (2015-16) ▪ 6 additionnal beds at the Ottawa Withdrawal Management Centre (2015-16) ▪ 10 beds Stabilization Program for Women (2015-16)

3 COMMUNITY WITHDRAWAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AND DAY PROGRAM ▪ Withdrawal management at Home ▪ Addiction Case Managers ▪ Follow up until admitted to treatment ▪ Duration of care: 1 to 3 months ▪ Total of 400 clients/year ▪ Day Program, 5 days a week, 10 to 3pm ▪ 10 to 14 clients a week, ▪ Duration of program: 3 weeks ▪ For Greater Ottawa and North Grenville

4 OTTAWA ADDICTIONS ACCESS AND REFERRAL SERVICES ▪ Obtained permanent funding in 2015 ▪ 4 Navigators ▪ 1,500 Assessements/year ▪ Addiction services mapping in Champlain ▪ Gap analysis done ▪ Unique Online Waitlist implemented ▪ Supports 20 Addiction Agencies with Steering and Clinical Advisory Committees in place ▪ Referral to outpatient services and residential services ▪ New provincial tools to be implemented in the Fall One Entry door to the Addiction treatment services in Ottawa One E-mail: navigator1 @mri.ca Call one number (613) 241- 5202

5 HOARDING PILOT PROJECT IN MENTAL HEALTH ▪ Partnership between Montfort Renaissance and Options Bytown ▪ Goal is to design a program that is effective for clients suffering from severe and persistant mental health problems as well as hoarding behaviors ▪ Hired 2 Hoarding specialists ▪ For training and clinical supervision, hired the best experts in the field: ▪ Randy Frost (USA) ▪ Elaine Birchall (Canada) ▪ Hired a Reseacher: Stephanie Yamin (University of Ottawa) ▪ Services will be given to 40 clients a year ▪ Duration of services 6 to 9 months

6 6 ADDITIONAL BEDS OPEN AT OWMC ▪ Refusal rate of about 200 clients a month at OWMC ▪ Average length of stay is 5,11 to 7 days approximately ▪ 3 beds are dedicated to frequent users of ER services that suffer from Addictions ▪ Length of stay in those 3 beds are: 14 days ▪ Those beds are linked to Stabilization services at the Salvation Army for men and at Maison Gilles Chagnon for women ▪ All physical beds available at OWMC are now open and funded for Ontario Clients ▪ The closest Residential Withdrawal Management Centre aside from The Royal that has a medical Centre is Kingston ▪ Services the entire Champlain region with approximately 1,500 admissions/year

7 RESIDENTIAL STABILIZATION PROGRAM FOR WOMEN ▪ For women suffering from addiction and/or concurrent disorders and that are living in vulnerable housing, that puts them at high risk of relapse ▪ 10 beds for women going up to 12 in about 18 months ▪ Bilingual service ▪ Literature review and environment scan done ▪ Program designed based on best practices ▪ Duration of stay: 1 to 3 months ▪ Requirements: ▪ To be vulnerably housed; ▪ To have a treatment plan and referral by OAARS ▪ To stay abstinent during their stay ▪ To have a set date of admission into a residential treatment facility
