5 Monthly Running Plan Months123456 Mileage 8 miles/week 10-12 miles/week 12-14 miles/week 14-16 miles/week 16-20 miles/ week 22-23 miles/week Days Ran 2-3/week 3-4/week 4-5/ week5-6/ week 2 weeks before the race, start to taper to 16 miles and then only go on short runs the week of.

6 Injury Prevention  Take ice baths after long runs  Get fitted for shoes  Don’t over exert yourself  Get enough rest  Pace yourself Injuries like shin splints and pulled muscles are preventable; talk to running friends for tips and don’t over do it!
