3  Length  Information to include:  name  contact information  professional summary statement  employment objective statement  education  employment experience  skills/activities/affiliations  references (optional)

4  Professional Summary Statement, e.g.  An (immigration advisor) with (9) years of experience in (higher education) who has successfully (improved office procedures for visa processing)  Employment Objective Statement, e.g.  To find a (challenging) position in (an international trade organization) where my (analytical) skills can be utilized  To obtain a position in a (global enterprise) that will use my education and work experience in (international business, telecommunications, and market analysis)  Power Words

5  Customize for each application  Most important information first  Highlight skills specific to job  Relevant experiences only  Use key words & terms from your profession  Answer question: "Why should I hire you?"
