The Greenhouse Effect – the natural heating process of a planet, such as the Earth, by which gases in the atmosphere trap thermal energy.

Particles that trap thermal energy are called “greenhouse gases”. Scientists have hypothesized that an increase of these gases, may be causing an increase in the greenhouse effect.

Radiation balance is the balance between incoming and outgoing energy. – The amount coming in and going out must be equal for earth to remain livable.
