Overview The goal is to assist in the rapid attachment of the Non-Custodial Parent and Ex-Offender to the workforce through a job placement and retention program

Recidivism and the Cost 43% of individuals released from prison were incarcerated again within three years One in 31 adults have been incarcerated or are on probation or parole Between 1959 and 2009, the prison population increased by 705% State spending on corrections is $52 billion Currently, one out of eight State employees work for a correction agency Pew Foundation Report 2011

Recidivism and Unemployment 84.89% of federal offenders who had supervision revoked were unemployed at the time

Job Placement For the Ex-Offender Employer selection is critical Market to small and mid-size employers Identify industries with high turnover – clients with criminal records cannot change jobs for an extra 25 cents per hour Constant follow-up by job developers and employment counselors is critical Know what convictions each client has on his/her record Typical industries open to hiring ex-offenders include: Construction, Light Industrial, Manufacturing, Logistics and Warehousing
