PYP Inquiry Exhibition Welcome! Please find your child’s blue folder.

What is the PYP Inquiry Exhibition? Students produce a culminating project, combining the essential elements of the PYP and sharing the findings with the school community. Students participate in a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process, involving them in identifying, investigating, and offering solutions to real-life issues or problems.

Transdisciplinary Theme: How We Organize Ourselves An exploration of: o human systems and communities o the world of work, its nature, and its value o employment and unemployment and their impact on us and the world around us

Our Central Idea Individuals and groups connect and organize to solve problems.

An Inquiry Into: There are problems faced by various communities in developed and undeveloped countries. We will investigate the groups and projects, which organize to help solve these problems. The topic (the specific organization) chosen by your child should be a real world issue or problem, local or global.

Global and Local Examples... Integrating creativity with research skills, this project will be most successful if your child chooses an organization in which he/she holds a sincere, personal interest.

PYP Inquiry Mentors and Mentees Your child’s project will be done primarily at home. Each child will be assigned a specific mentor (a Streams Staff member). Your child will meet with the mentor every few weeks. At these meetings, the mentor will provide feedback, as well as assignments for your child to work on while at home. Each mentor report provides home-school communication, and requires mentor, student, and parent signatures. Don’t forget to check on your child’s progress by viewing the mentor reports and providing a signature.
