Leavenworth County Senior Services, Inc. Established: September 2000 Mission: The Leavenworth County Senior Services, Inc. provides a community Heritage Center, an ideal facility, not only serving our Seniors, but the citizens of Leavenworth County to improve quality of life for all through delivering educational, recreational, cultural events and numerous outstanding activities. Serves: All of Leavenworth County The Board of Directors is made up of individuals from throughout the County with a variety of interests and experiences.

History Original plans called for construction of a new building The building at 109 Delaware was obtained from Mac Greenamyre on July 1, 2001 July 1, 2001 Council on Aging moved into the building in December 2001 Renovation of the upper floor began in 2005 Not a County Entity

WHAT GOES ON IN THAT BUILDING? We have a close working relationship with the Community Center We have a partnership with the Leavenworth County Artists Association Leavenworth Retired School Personnel NARFE – National Assoc. or Retired Federal Employees The facility is available for use by the public

THE MOST IMPORTANT USE!! The daily activities that include the many volunteers and individuals who enjoy gathering for the variety of programs, socialization and a sense of being useful and having ownership in the Center

ATTENDANCE AT THE CENTER The average attendance during the past 12 months for programs sponsored by the Heritage Center has been 634/month. An average of 132 volunteers have worked 471 hr./month. The average attendance at booked events has been 686/ month

Heritage Singers These folks enjoy singing and will be performing for groups A Sea of Red! 160 red hat ladies attended a luncheon sponsored by the Center

The Heritage Center sponsors musical events that are open to the public Three local Church groups Recently performed At the Center for an Evening of Joyful Praise

Leavenworth Area Retired School Personnel enjoy a meal following their monthly meeting Prison City Modelers Club hold annual events at the Center

Weddings, Receptions, Birthday Parties, Class Reunions, Luncheons, Musical Events – The Heritage Center is available to everyone

GOALS FOR 2011 Secure Renters at 109A Delaware Continue seeking grants and funding to complete the renovation of the floors in the banquet room. Expand marketing and community outreach. Expand the programs within the Center.
