Competitive environment with other countries using IT Air traffic control, credit card and space travel are example where computer is essential New jobs introduced for IT, programmers and network administrators.

IT disadvantages Life without IT is slower and less stressful.
Higher unemployment. The new jobs generated by IT require highly skilled people The people who did the boring repetitive jobs now unemployed. Erode the people’s privacy. Widen the gap between the countries using IT and others does not use IT.

Kids play games more than 30 hours a week which affecting the social and educational development of such children. This will cause Attention Defection Disorder (ADD).

New systems make use of cameras and computers to recognize criminal and alert the police. These cameras constantly used to scan railway stations, airports, shopping centers, … etc. These cameras pick up the images and compare them with database images of criminals, if they match then alert the police.

Reduce wastage in industrial processing : Computers are accurate and reduce wastage in our factories. Saving trees: elimination of paper use because of the electronic office. Reducing car pollution: teleworking reduces pollution EPA (Environmental Protection Agency): Responsible for looking overall environmental issues in U.S.A.

Software theft: Violation of copy right lay by people. Hacking: Gaining access to someone else’s computer system. Privacy: Information withheld by banks and other organization is accessed and used. Job losses: Development of new systems will eliminate jobs of people who are working in the organizations.

Advantages It is convenient to pay without cash No longer need to take large amount of money. The risk of being robbed is reduced. You do not have to queue at the bank You can buy goods with credit cards

Disadvantages: Certain people are not able to get credit cards It is possible to spend more money than you have on credit card. It is hard to keep track of how much you have spent on your credit card because statements come at the end of the month.
