Tigers At Twilight Author: Mary Pope Osborne Presentation by Emma Niehof

2 Setting The setting of this book is in a beautiful jungle in India with animals like tree frogs, monkeys, insects, and most of all tigers.

3 Jack Annie Main Characters
Jack is an 8 year old boy with glasses and short brown hair. He is Annie’s big brother. He carries a backpack that he uses to carry Teddy and special objects that he finds on his adventures with Annie. When Jack finds out facts about new places and things he writes them down. Annie has blonde hair and always wears pony tails. She is Jack’s little sister. Annie loves animals. Sometimes when they go on adventures and meet animals she thinks she can talk to them.

4 Supporting Characters
Teddy is a boy that is under a spell that turned him into a brown and stubby dog. He goes with Jack and Annie to the jungle in India to find the third special object that is needed to turn him back into a boy. He showed his bravery by barking at the tigers in the jungle to save Jack and Annie from being eaten. Kah and Ko are two langur monkeys that show Jack and Annie how to swing from the vines in the jungle to save them from the boa constrictor trying to strangle them.

5 Summary of the Plot Jack and Annie find Teddy in Frog Creek woods on their way to the tree house. When they get there, they find a note from Morgan Le Fay that tells them they need to find the third special object in a forest far away in India that will help turn Teddy back into a boy. When they get there they meet two monkeys named Kah and Ko that help them avoid some of the dangers of the forest. They also meet a tiger that is stuck in a trap. After helping the tiger he begins to chase Jack and Annie. Teddy saves them by barking at the tiger. Then Kah and Ko bring Jack and Annie to their blind friend the hermit. He gives Jack and Annie a beautiful lotus flower that ends up being the third gift they need to turn Teddy back into a boy.

6 My Opinion of the Book I enjoyed reading this book because it was about two kids on an adventure in a far away place. The characters helped one another throughout the adventure. I am excited to read the next book where Jack and Annie find the fourth gift that they need to turn Teddy back into a boy.

7 My Favorite Part of the Book
My favorite parts of the book were when Jack and Annie meet the two Langur monkeys named Kah and Ko and when they protect Jack and Annie from the cobra in a tree by showing them that they can swing on vines to escape.
