Harcourt Horizons series-Communities Theme Topics of Study: Communities Citizenship and Government Communities Over Time The Economy Study guides are sent at the beginning of the chapter to allow students to study a little each night Tests are often announced a few days before they are given

Students are graded using the number system Numbering System 4 (100%-94%) 3+ (93%-90%) 3 (89%-80%) 2 (79%-70%) 1 (69%-0) Explanation of grades can be found on the inside of the report card folder for non-percentage based grades

Tardiness-anytime past 9:10 AM Absences- written note from parent explaining absence and the date According to the school policy, we may not provide students with missed class work prior to a vacation related absence. Conferences- conferences are scheduled for November 21 st - 23rd, but we can meet anytime you have a concern. Website- We often post pictures and information to our website. Snack- Please send in snacks in a tightly sealed container to prevent any unwelcomed guests in our classroom! Birthdays- Your child can bring in a special treat that day. We celebrate birthdays during our snack time which begins at 2:45 PM. Please send in napkins and utensils to serve the treats if necessary. There are 27 students in our class. PSSA-Pennsylvania state assessment usually given over a 2 week period during late March-early April Scholastic Book Club-Your child will have the opportunity to purchase books online. More info.
