Attendance Information Students allowed in the building at 8:25. Tardy Bell rings at 8:40. Students MUST be walked into the school and signed in starting at 8:40. Call home after 3x tardy and letter after 5 absences. Official state record tied to funding. Please submit extended absence requests for vacations.

Medical Information Paperwork required for ALL medicine at school! Prescription medication must be in original container with label and brought into school by adult Inform of any new medical concerns! Immunization record for new students Vision screening for new students

Surround Care Before and afterschool care Housed at Campus Parents enter with pass code they have been asked not to let others in for security reasons

Academic Emphasis Increased rigor in reading and math Third Grade Reading Guarantee State testing preparation Text books for science and social studies Simple Solutions for Math and Grammar

Important Acronyms AR = Accelerated Reader Students read books they select based on their interests and reading level. They earn points toward their 9-week goal by passing a computer test after reading their selected book. Students who meet their goal are rewarded with an AR party and AR BragTag

Important Acronyms STAR – R and STAR- M On-line testing in reading and math that tells us if the student’s reading and math skills are within their grade level band. Also provides specific feedback to help student improve their skills. RIMP = Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plan A plan specifically written by a reading tutor and classroom teacher to describe the plan they developed to improve reading for students who are indentified under the Third Grade Reading Guarantee

Dress Code Shirts with sleeves No flip-flops or high heels please! Safety concern! No hats – except for special days

Electronics Policy Cell phones Off and in a student’s book bag during the school day Will require parent pick-up if policy is violated Personal Gaming Systems Cannot be out during school day Strongly discouraged! Problems with students ‘trading’ and ‘borrowing’

Snack Lists Approved snack list for classrooms to accommodate students with food allergies Please see handout from your child’s teacher Lists will be posted on the Campus webpage
