Married Raymond Parks in 1932 Received her High School diploma in 1934, but never finished Teacher’s College Co-founds the Rosa & Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development Awarded Medal of Freedom in 1996 Died October 24th, 2005

Rosa Parks Contributions
Was arrested for defying segregation laws. Her arrest on Dec 5th, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama triggered the Montgomery Bus Boycott Other forms of civil disobedience against segregation would follow her example. Supreme Court rules against the Bus company, a victory for Rosa Parks. Known as “The Mother of the Modern Day Civil Rights Movement”
