The Sector Skills Council for the Environmental and Land-based Sector Background Government White Paper on 14-19 Education and Skills Specialised Diplomas will be available at 3 levels across 14 lines of learning First teaching from September 2008 for phase 1, September 2009 for phase 2, September 2010 for phase 3 Build on existing good practice and partnerships

The Sector Skills Council for the Environmental and Land-based Sector Specialised Diplomas Will be employer led through the Sector Skills Councils Attract young people into the sector, widening participation Provide progression into either employment or further / higher education Meet the skill and knowledge required for employment Provide sector relevant learning in real or realistic environments

Principal learning sector related, determines Diploma title Additional / specialist learning specialisation in sector, complimentary area Generic learning functional skills, project, personal learning skills Work experience 10 days at each level
