Retraining Grants Geared toward 2 year colleges Requires the delivery of complete programs (1 to 2 years+) For retraining of existing workforce, DoL Targeted to areas affected by offshoring Programs for technologies and the economy of the future

Program requirements Need to provide: – Value – Measurable results – Remote/distance education components – Public domain curriculum – Flexible and redefinable Just being brick and mortar is not sufficient!!!

Anatomy of a Partnership National Instruments uses an Alliance Partner to do all hardware, software, and curriculum development National Instruments and our Alliance Partner will aid in preparation of the grant request with the collaboration of the Community College Commitment will be essential

Anatomy of a Partnership (cont.) College required to form relationships with local industries affected (National Instruments will assist) Grant submitted by College Work performed and monitored by National Instruments, with a complete solution delivery by Alliance Member Training of staff done at the local college Full support provided for 1 full cycle College will need to do continuing STEM outreach, 1+1, and other community efforts

CC Project Manager- to be hired after contract let, one per school (full time) Academic Expert Advisor- one per program with field expertise and project experience, provides weekly consulting to NI and direction to all CCPMs (part time) Integrator Project Manager- Internal project management from the contractor (as required)
