STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES Meetings for SSS are Bi-Weekly on Wednesday, there is FREE FOOD, and a lesson to be learned. Talk to Dr. Beth Billy or any one in the Financial Aid Department for more information.

Financial Aid Apply for Federal Financial Aid each year. Applications (Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA) are available January 1 at www.fafsa.ed.govwww.fafsa.ed.gov

Work-Study jobs are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. You must apply for Federal Financial Aid early to have a chance to work. The financial aid office maintains a waiting list with the first 100 students on the waiting list.

Enrollment status – full-time 12 or more hours; ¾-time 9-11 hours; and ½-time- 6-8 hours; less than six hours is considered part- time

Mailing addresses – any information mailed out to students by the college goes to the address that the admissions office has on file. Is that address correct? Look at your information on the Hawk’s Nest and make sure that it is correct.

Federal Financial Aid is not fully earned until the sixty percent date in the term. Those dates for the 2010-11 school year are: Fall – October 19, Spring – March 15, Summer – July 5. (These dates also apply if you stop attending classes before the 60 percent date and each of your instructors assigns an “F” as your final grade.)

Academic Progress Measures: Students are expected to earn at least 67 percent of all hours attempted. GPA requirements by hours scheduled: 12-21 hours 1.50 cumulative GPA; 22-32 hours 1.75 cumulative GPA and 33 or more hours 2.00 GPA. Students must have a 2.00 cumulative GPA in order to graduate.

Scholarship applications are available each year after the first week in January and are due on April 1.

Refund payments are expected to be mailed from the business office once we have been in class for fourteen calendar days.
