2  To raise awareness of young children and to emphasise the importance of acting as an individual and as a community to make a difference on issues relating to climate change by understanding how energy efficiency, transport, consumption and waste, and alternative energy sources have an impact on climate change.  To introduce the ROSE – Reduce, Offset, Substitute, Enhance - principles initiated by UKM to inculcate green values on young children, their families and school communities.  To empower children, their families and school communities by providing the tools for monitoring and measuring their energy consumption and reducing their energy footprint through environmental literacy, multimedia materials, creation of micro jungle eco-system, green folios, 4-in-1 temperature measurement instrument, eco-art, and composting practices.  To initiate young children into a community of change agents through setting up Climate Change clubs to cultivate values and practices towards solving the causes of climate change.

3  Creating a cadre of Climate Ambassadors among young children, through the establishment of Climate Change clubs, who can act as change agents in the schools and surrounding communities.  Creating a model green school which can be replicated nationwide for addressing climate change.  Creating a cadre of trained climate change volunteers (university students and school teachers) to assist in future climate change projects nationwide to be conducted by UKM Green School team.  Developing awareness and raising environmental literacy through multimedia materials on climate change that have been designed to be age-appropriate and culture-appropriate, depicting issues relating to scientific and technical knowledge as well as socio-cultural implications of climate change that can be translated into science lessons and co- curricular activities.  Creating networked registered members of Green ROSE ambassadors through the website.
