13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Matt 5:13 (KJV) Salt: is salt figuratively  being Effective Pure, 100% salt cannot lose its savor Salt: sometimes  impurities mixed in Residue – useless Churches  not everyone saved Believers  hold on to sins Your saltiness percentage? 10 Our words measure our saltiness Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. Col 4:6 (NASB) Think about words? Words come from the heart Words are different depending on…. – 100% sold out to Christ or – 50% sold out to Christ Our words measure our saltiness Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. 11 1 Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 "Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." 3 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ' Honor your father and mother,' and, ' He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.' 5 But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God," Matt 15:1-5 (NASB)

6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 8 ' This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me. (Isa 29:13) 9 'But in vain (senseless, pointless, without result)do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'" 10 After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, "Hear and understand. 11 It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds (Pres / mid) out of the mouth, this defiles the man.“ Matt 15:6-11 6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' 13 Don’t be Afraid to Speak the Truth 12 Then the disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?" 13 But He answered and said, " Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant (did not receive the gospel) shall be uprooted. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Matt 15:12-14 (NASB) Don’t be Afraid to Speak the Truth 12 Then the disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?" 13 But He answered and said, " Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant (did not receive the gospel) shall be uprooted. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Matt 15:12-14 (NASB)

Speech Reveals the Heart 15 Peter said to Him, " Explain the parable to us." 16 Jesus said, "Are you still lacking in understanding also? 17 Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? 18 But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. 20 These are the things which (Pres, act, part) defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man." Matt 15:15-20 What we think matters! / What we say matters! Matt 5:13 (KJV) Don’t lose your saltiness! (with unclean thoughts and words) Fundamentally – how should a believer view others? Mt 5:44-48, John 13:34-35 Don’t lose your saltiness! 16 To be 100% salt – we must be 100% committed But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NASB)

Here is how the Father dealt with ….. Isa 29:13, Isa 53:6, Isa 64:6, Rom 3:10 Rom 3:23 John 3:16 Rom 5:8 2 Cor 5:21

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NASB) Not easy for Jesus to leave heaven and die on the cross. Not easy for us to love our enemies.

Think how different the world would be if these men told their listeners to give their hearts to Jesus!

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
