Systems of Changes Founded in 1991 by Andy Wee, S.O.C. provides “new form” marketing and management services. The company believes that in order to be in the forefront, there is a need in continuously investment in R&D to improve the way business operates. The core objective being to assist customers to improve productivity, reduce cost & market development. In the late 80’s, a research project usually takes about 3 to 6 months. Good research is the basic of understanding issues and formulation of successful plans is outmost critical in any BPR process or developing an effective marketing plan. The first task was to develop a technique or process where we can improve on the accuracy and speed of any collection of information. In order to achieve desirable results in our BPR (Business Process Re- Engineering) services, the company is divided into 4 divisions – Marketing, Management, Technology and Investment. Within each division, sub-divisions or companies are formed, acquired or invested in order to control the quality of programs provided. The technology division was the first to be formed as IT was at an infant stage. The company invested in a networking company, Wills Information Technology Pte Ltd, to acquire the technical skills required in the integration of IT with our management process.

Systems of Changes The marketing division function was to assist companies in market development. The investment section handles the expansion of the company for example, acquiring of office space in Shanghai & Malaysia. As “Communication Technology” was not integrated into the IT at that point in time, a separate company - SOC Trading International - was formed under the investment arm to source & purchase communication products worldwide. All companies have retained their own brand, operational mode and own profit centre. Each division or sub-divisions are also run independently with individual P&L. SOC consultancy revolves around the 3 fundamentals: Process, Technology and Training. For example, in implementing new “TECHNOLOGIES” like e-commerce, the “PROCESS” or the way business transaction is traditionally done needs modification and people need to be “TRAINED”. Unfortunately many websites failed because of failure to “CHANGE” the process of doing business. Most of the subsidiaries or divisions have been dissolved or sold by late 2003 leaving the core consultancy business.

Power of Integration & Synergy ALM market was US & Europe, ie to assist companies to expand into Asia Pacific As one of the core service is PR, the company will come into contact with the latest technology or product If the product is IT and the manufacturer is looking for distributors, the lead will be passed on to WILLS. The IT training centre will also be briefed on the latest technology so as to evaluate possible new courses. ALM was also in very close contact with publishers, relevant publications/magazines are placed into the library or given to trainees as a value added service. Because of the consistent sourcing of customers with latest technology, much knowledge or technique was gained resulting in development of leading edge cybermarketing programs. ALM worked with content management tools developer (with customers with million of pages of information), One2One marketing tools (with customers like Amazon.com), cookies developer, search engines developer etc
