A wonderful vocation
2
1. Discern your calling : We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ( Eph. 2 : 10 ) Career vs Vocation
3
Career concerns about self And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this? ( Esther 4:14b) Vocation concerns about others
4
2. Adjust your attitude : Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. ( 1 Cor 11 : 1 ) And without faith it is impossible to please God... ( Heb 11 : 6a ) Resources vs Submission
5
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Rev 3:20) You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. (Rev 3:17)
6
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-- neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. (Rev. 3:15-16) The hot spring of Hierapolis The cold spring water of Colossi

3. Steadfast on priority : We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete. ( 1 John 1 : 3-4 ) Work vs Relationship
8
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. (Phil 3:12) Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself… (John 15:4) Press on → Rest in the Lord
9
4. Seek the depth of vocation : but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. ( Luke 10 : 41-42 ) Distraction vs Concentration
10
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ( Isa 40 : 31 )
