3 RecTech as Community Resource I’ve been trying to start my own business, but it’s tough not having a computer at home. I do emails and what else I can on my phone. [At RecTech], though, I can sit and work on my business plan, make flyers or Powerpoints, whatever I need! I was pretty stubborn about learning technology, thought I could get along without it. But after my [Computer Basics for Seniors] class, I want to learn even more. There are so many useful things I never imagined! –L.C., Yesler Senior

4 RecTech as Afterschool Program Priority access, homework help, tutoring, and healthy snacks help youth stay safe and engaged after school…

5 RecTech as Afterschool Program …Digital Media programs in graphic design, music production, web design, and more keep them learning when the homework is done

6 RecTech Digital Media Internships After the RecTech Internship, I feel more prepared for high school the fall. I feel like I am more capable because I learned these technology skills, and more confident because I learned other things too, like teamwork and managing big projects. –T.C., Summer 2011 Intern I thought I had no skill or life ahead of me before this. Now I have a creative outlet and I can pursue my goals confidently. I hope I can continue to use photography to express myself. I want to use my pictures as proof that I am strong and capable and can reach all my goals. –T.D., Fall 2011 Intern
