Objectives know: the theories and principles of information systems strategic planning; trends in the evolution of methods for conducting information systems strategic planning; the main techniques commonly used in the preparation of information systems strategic plans

Objectives understand: the corporate context for information systems strategic planning and its implications for the way in which planning is carried out; the strengths and weaknesses of IS planning theory and the way in which it is applied to real-life organizational practices;

Objectives be able to: critically analyze the suitability of the process and techniques being used in the development of an IS strategic plan have developed attitudes which enable them to: recognize the need for flexibility in adapting information systems strategic planning approaches to suit the prevailing organizational circumstances and business requirements; recognize the strengths and weaknesses of current practices in information systems strategic planning; participate as part of an IS strategic planning team
